Edible Tide Pods

Early in 2018 eating Tide Pods was a thing. There were many memes and videos made joking around about eating the popular forbidden snack shaped laundry detergent. There were even reports of teenagers participating in the dangerous “Tide Pod Challenge.” Procter and Gamble had to air ads discouraging people from consuming their tasty looking pods.

Using my mold making skills and culinary interests, I sought to create the worlds first realistic looking edible Tide Pod. That way you can actually eat something that looks and feels like a Tide Pod without any of the health risks. (Plus you can trick people into thinking you actually ate laundry detergent).

I succeeded and shot a tutorial video that shows you just how to recreate this delicacy for yourself. With help from a friend of mine (who had a monetized YouTube channel) the video was uploaded and is available for all to see on the internet.

Enjoy:

I was originally hoping to cash in on the meme by having a viral video with ad revenue but YouTube decided to age restrict it which drastically reducing the number of views. As a result it only made a few bucks which I let my friend keep. The age restriction was briefly appealed and lifted but has since been reinstated. To further salt the wound, Super Deluxe (who are now apparently called Tatered?) uploaded a similar video just before I finished editing mine and theirs didn’t get age restricted or demonetized. They didn’t even use food safe silicone! The video is now age restricted so I guess they got what’s coming.
