Matte board

This was the first project in the Introduction to 3D Design course that I took the first semester of my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. The assignment was to create a maquette out of matte board for a proposed art installation somewhere on campus. I really just wanted to create a cool model of the Iron Giant, so I made the Iron Giant out of matte board and called it a colossal (admittedly impractical) sculpture of the robot to be placed on Engineering Mall on campus. The model was created by hand based on reference images and all the joints are fully articulated.
