Sounds of Ceramics II

On April 11-13th, 2019, I held a solo exhibition of functional ceramic musical instruments at the University of Wisconsin Art Lofts. This exhibition was a sequel to my 2016 exhibition of the same title. This exhibition was interactive where visitors could play the instruments on display. The instruments were also for sale. The emphasis of this exhibition was on quality, tuning and variety. Instruments showcased had a consistent motif with airbrushed gradients or solid colors. The majority of the instruments were created using a slipcasting technique. Wind instruments were also accompanied with fingering charts which can be found on the Charts tab on this website.

The following instruments were showcased at this exhibition: 6 Hole Ocarina, 12 Hole Ocarina, Ocarina Mug, Flute, Recorder, Ceramic Sax, Bugle, Guiro, Shaker, Udu Drum, Darbuka.
